GoGA Mission

We strive to create a positive, dynamic, supportive, all-female environment where women are challenged to ride harder and farther. We emphasize a holistic approach towards riding: we want to facilitate your progression towards becoming a confident rider in terms of route, repair, and safety knowledge.

The specifications:

- Ride 20 to 30 miles in 2007, 25 to 35 miles in 2008

- Quick pace (we don't want to be out all night)

- You will feel most comfortable riding a road bike

- Although we always look out for each other, you are responsible for knowing your own limitations. If you are not comfortable with long distance, the mechanics of your bike, or the pace is too quick, speak up!!! We will try to accommodate you if you are willing to push yourself.

Hi GOGA ladies,

Ivana and I are thinking of doing this incredible ride called "Sweatheart Ride" this coming Sunday. Here is the website for more details: http://www.routeslip.com/routes/65872
The "Sweetheart Ride" actually starts at the Rose Bowl and then pick up where the other route starts in Pasadena and end our journey in Rancho Cucamonga, it will be around a 45 mile bike ride. Please let us know if anyone would like to join us this Sunday. Give Ivana a call or post any comments on this web page.

Ivana and Baby,

Jared and I are thinking about doing the "Sweatheart Ride" - was that an intential typo? - this Sunday. I got the text message, what time will you be at Union Station for sure? That way we can look down a time for interested LA parties...

Alice,

I have plans, but perhaps other people are live more East would be interested! Sounds like fun!

We'll get to Union Station at 8:40am and head out from there by 9. If anyone wants to meet up in Pasadena/South Pasadena or anywhere on the way, just let us know.
We'll have a BBQ in Rancho. So bring some cash for your tofu burger dogs etc. We can stop at a grocery store once we're in Rancho so that you don't have to carry all that stuff with you.
The last train from Rancho to Union Station leaves at 5:50pm, one-way tickets are $6.50 (http://www.metrolinktrains.com/schedules/html.php?id=381). That'll give us plenty of time for the ride and food and fun ;)

Hey is this Sweetheart Ride a roadie type ride? What is the pace?

I have a friend coming in from out of town but he is only bringing his hybrid...

I found the route on a "roadie" type site (routeslip.com) but it's not a "roadie" type ride. And not a "hustle" pace, just steady enough that we can do it in, I dunno, say less than 5 hours.
My husband will be on his hybrid, too and he's never gone quite that far before. Definitely bring your friend. It'll be fun times ;)

For all that are joining us on Sunday, looks like the weather will be perfect for the ride.
Meet at the Vignes side of Union Station in the bus plaza at 8:40 and we'll head out at 9am.
